2026 New Delvaux Cool Move Bag — A $5,000 Bag That Doesn’t Try Too Hard
When I think of Delvaux, the first bags that come to mind are usually the Brillant and Tempête. Beautiful, architectural, and unmistakably elegant—but perhaps a little too composed for some everyday wardrobes.
Then I saw the Cool Move.
It feels noticeably different from the Delvaux I’m used to seeing. Softer, more relaxed, and designed to actually move with the body rather than maintain a perfectly structured silhouette. At the same time, the U.S. price is $5,000.
Casual-looking bag, very serious price. That contrast alone made me want to take a closer look.

Is Delvaux finally loosening up a little?
The Cool Move belongs to Delvaux’s Le Cool family, but its personality feels quite different from the more structured Cool Box.
Instead of emphasizing sharp architecture, the Cool Move allows the leather to fall naturally around the body. It has that slouchy shoulder-bag shape that has become increasingly visible in luxury collections, yet it never looks completely casual.
The horizontal leather band across the front provides structure, while the small D-shaped hardware quietly identifies the brand.
And I think that restraint is important.
There’s no enormous logo announcing what you’re carrying. Someone unfamiliar with Delvaux might simply see an elegant leather shoulder bag. Someone who knows the brand will probably recognize the details immediately.
That kind of discretion feels very Delvaux.

Why does such a simple bag become more interesting the longer I look?
At first glance, there really isn’t much going on.
The silhouette is soft. The decoration is minimal. Nothing is particularly loud.
But look a little longer and the proportions start making sense.
The relaxed body creates movement while the leather band running across it adds a strong horizontal line. Then there’s the small metal D detail breaking up all that leather.

Softness and structure are sitting right next to each other.
If the bag were any more relaxed, it might look like an ordinary slouchy tote. If it were more structured, it would start drifting back toward familiar Delvaux territory.
The Cool Move sits somewhere between those two extremes, and perhaps that’s why it feels more interesting on the shoulder than sitting alone in a product photograph.

Sellier Calf makes the movement part of the design
Delvaux makes the Cool Move in Sellier Calf leather, and here the material isn’t simply about luxury.
Its flexibility matters.
The bag is designed to follow the wearer’s movement, meaning the way the leather folds and changes shape is essentially part of the design itself.

That also means this probably isn’t the ideal Delvaux for someone who wants a handbag to remain perfectly rigid year after year.
Personally, I think a little natural creasing would actually suit it.
A bag called “Move” would almost feel strange if it remained completely stiff, wouldn’t it?

That hidden zipper might matter more than expected
One problem I often notice with soft shoulder bags is security.
A beautiful slouchy opening can look effortless in photographs, but if the contents are constantly exposed, everyday practicality becomes questionable.
Delvaux addresses that with a concealed zipper closure.

The bag can maintain its clean, relaxed appearance while still closing properly. The strap is interchangeable as well, reinforcing the idea that this is intended to be a more adaptable Delvaux rather than a formal handbag reserved for specific occasions.
It’s a small detail, but probably one of the features that makes the Cool Move more convincing as an everyday luxury bag.

And then comes the $5,000 question…
As of September 2026, the Delvaux U.S. website lists the Cool Move in Sellier Calf at $5,000.
That immediately changes the conversation.
At this price, the Cool Move isn’t competing with ordinary contemporary shoulder bags. And unlike the Brillant, it doesn’t necessarily give you the instant satisfaction of owning one of Delvaux’s most historically recognizable silhouettes.
You’re essentially paying $5,000 for subtlety.
That will sound ridiculous to some people—and perfectly appealing to others.
Because there is something attractive about an expensive handbag that doesn’t spend all its energy trying to look expensive.
Whether that understated attitude is worth $5,000 is another question entirely…

Black is safe, but the colors may be more interesting
Black naturally works beautifully with this design, especially if the goal is to keep the bag discreet.
Still, I find myself more interested in colors such as Vegetal, Rain, and Morning Dew.
The softer silhouette seems to come alive when color is involved, and Delvaux’s campaign imagery also emphasizes movement and brighter tones rather than traditional formality.
I can imagine the Cool Move looking especially good with a simple shirt and jeans, oversized knitwear, or wide trousers.
Perhaps that’s the biggest surprise here.
This doesn’t feel like a bag that needs to be “dressed up” simply because it says Delvaux on the inside.

What are people saying about it?
Because the Cool Move is still relatively new, there isn’t yet the enormous archive of long-term owner reviews that exists for established Delvaux icons.
Still, it has started appearing in handbag discussions and wish lists. In one Reddit handbag discussion, for example, the Cool Move was suggested as a possible everyday choice, although its price pushed it beyond the shopper’s intended budget.
That reaction feels understandable.
The design itself is easy to like. The harder part is deciding whether its quietness justifies the price.
And maybe that’s exactly where the Cool Move becomes interesting. It isn’t trying to compete through obvious branding or elaborate decoration. The attraction is mostly in the shape, leather, proportions, and the way it sits against the body.
Not everyone will see $5,000 worth of value there.
But I suspect the people who do will really understand this bag.

So who is the Cool Move actually for?
I wouldn’t automatically choose the Cool Move as someone’s first major luxury handbag.
If you want an instantly recognizable Delvaux icon, there are more obvious choices within the house. If maximum structure is important, this relaxed silhouette probably isn’t the answer either.
But imagine someone who already owns several classic bags and now wants something quieter—something luxurious without looking formal, and distinctive without relying on a giant logo.

That’s where the Cool Move starts making sense.
For me, this is one of those bags that becomes more appealing the less it tries to impress.
The $5,000 price still makes me hesitate. Of course it does.
Yet I keep coming back to the images.
And perhaps that is the cleverest thing about the Cool Move: it looks unlike the Delvaux bags most people immediately recognize, but once you notice the craftsmanship, the D detail and that controlled balance between structure and softness, it still feels unmistakably Delvaux.
